    Approves of CEO

I worked at CAE full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Great place to start for a new graduate
    - Many opportunities for advancement or change of career focus (you must initiate)
    - Excellent people (both skilled and personalities)

    Cons

    - Employee training has declined/non-existant in the last 5 years
    - Loyalty has disappeared (both to company and to employees)
    - Long-time employees work with a guillotine over their heads from what is now the common and regular practice of reorganization and budget cuts. Their higher salaries are what makes them vulnerable and their skills and expertise are not valued.

    Advice to Management

    - Advice for Directors and up ... do not insulate yourselves from employees. Meet and honestly engage with everyone and they will be inspired and more creative.
    - Value your older employees, they are the ones that make what seems to be the impossible, possible.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at CAE full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great innovative products and services.
    Good diversity of job opportunities.
Excellent opportunities to work in other countries.
    Good and helpful co-workers.
A lot of different cultures to work with.

    Cons

The functional departments (HR and Finance) have too much influence which hinders the company's ability to provide good service to its clients.
Repeated hiring freezes makes it difficult for the remaining employees to deliver to the clients on time.
The CEO and upper management are making large bonuses on the backs of the employees by cutting salaries and benefits.
Constant reorganizations causes chaos and prevents stable processes to be put in place.

    Advice to Management

The employees and departments directly in contact with customers need to have greater influence. Decision making should be pushed down to the lowest level possible to accelerate reaction time for customer requests. Less focus on cost cutting and more on growth and client satisfaction. Unhappy employees will ultimately make for bad customer experiences.
