Pros

Excellent salaries and benefits. Good work life and family considerations. Employess are friendly, helpful and support each other with many long term (25 year +) staff.

Cons

The company is micro-managed to the maximum from the top down. Management is not permitted to utilize their experience and background to make even the smallest desicision without upper management approval. Overall their business model and services are in a declining market.

Advice to Management

Listen to the recommendations of staff and front line management instead of just giving it lip service.

    Pros

You can get away with doing very little work, as long as you are willing to play politics and make upper management feel like they are always right you can do quite well.

    Cons

complete lack of autonomy, technical paralysis

The political climate at CAS encourages backstabbing and deception, there is so little authority delegated from the top that people are constantly fighting for a shred of influence in the organization.

Feedback through the chain of command is non existent and unwanted by senior management.

Credit for technical innovation is often misapplied as managers and "thought leaders" take credit for ideas they had nothing to do with; while at the same time policies are being created that actually prevent further innovations.

The company is lost in its own delusions of grandeur, claiming to be the gold standard when they are quite far behind in technology.

    Advice to Management

stop trying to control everything and listen to the people on the ground, get rid of the yes men in middle management
