Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Good pay
Good benefits
Great team that I personally worked with at our office
Good advancement opportunities
Good work/life balance when projects aren't wrapping up

Cons

CEO and upper senior management have fair to poor communication skills
A perception of "secret, back door" mishandlings of offices and staff because of the poor communication skills

Advice to Management

Just be open and honest with the people you employ. You might be surprised at the amount of respect and loyalty you get from it, even when handing out bad news.

    Pros

    decent salary and benefits
    some opportunity for varied experience
    good for early career

    Cons

Lots of very unqualified, clueless people entrenched in management.
Very poor job of integrating acquisitions by some departments.
Very poor at utilizing global resources, lots of provincialism

    Advice to Management

cb&i still stands for cousins, brothers & inlaws, in some departments.
Look at retention, especially from acquired companies, and analyze the root causes

    Pros

A good company until acquisition of ABB Lummis

    Cons

Low pay - but a good company and good folks unti they acquired ABB Lummis - everyone was afraid to make decisions - the "buck" was passed often - became a really "squirrely" place to work at - too many tattle tales - no procedures set in place - no true leadership - I can go on and on and it ALL would be negative remarks.

    Advice to Management

Put some procedures into place and make decisions and stick to them - Phil Asherman has no clue as to what is going on
