Pros

Great brands and talent still there, nice work environment and perks

Cons

Lots of the great talent has left. Began to feel more like a corporation without the start-up energy. Layoffs, cost cutting and fleeing of skilled mgmt had an impact on morale

Advice to Management

Breathe new life into the org. Get back to being innovators and realize who you are competing with for top talent in the Silicon Valley/Bay Area

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at CBS Interactive full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - interesting coworkers
    - location
    - informal work environment

    Cons

    - no room to grow within
    - middle-management does nothing
    - CEO and CTO have no idea what they're doing
    - layoffs across the board when there's already too little people to get the job done
    - pay raises, if given, barely keep pace with cost of living increase

    Advice to Management

Stop laying key people off and offer a competitive salary. Too many of the leaders who knew how to grow this company are gone and their replacements, if they even were replaced, have no idea what they're doing. This is causing so much pain operationally and slowing down the growth of CBSi.

"Way too much work, stress, OT. Unrealistic expectations from new AC's, no reward for hard work."

I have been working at CBS Interactive full-time

    Pros

*Company is expanding but AC position is a revolving door.
*Looks good on your resume but not sure if all the stress, hard work and OT is worth it.

    Cons

*When i interviewed for this position i thought i would be focusing on the clients instead i am staring at excel sheets, reports and dealing with creatives and tags most of the time.
*Managment reassures you that you can go to them if you need help and when you do they get irritated or say unecessary smart comments that make them sound condescending...your fellow AC's when they have a chance to breath will be nicer about helping you because they know its tough.
*They expect new AC's to know everything and understand everything and do things right.
    *Long learning curve
*2 week training only prepares you for the basics not the chaotic, complex, stressful work that comes your way...so its VERY irritating when a manager points out that your question was included in the training...UNREALISTIC. Its a lot, too soon, too complicated..so give your AC time to learn!

    Advice to Management

*Please split the AC position into an ad traffic coordinator and an AC position. I dont understand why AC's are involved with tags and creatives...in other companies this is not the case. Take that away and folks can work on developing their sales/client skills.
What worked years ago may not work in the future..your company is expanding rapidly please restructure.
*Stop giving AC's false hope about moving up to a manager in a year...there are way more AC's now so more competition.
*Please be honest with potential employees about what this job really entails.
*Ease the transition with accounts...accounts are thrown at AC's too soon.
*Cant speak for the AC's in the SF office but in the NY office AC's are stressed out to the max.
*Simplify things..it seems like everything is so unecessarily complicated and long of a process in CBSi.
