I worked at CEB full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Building has an amazing view of DC
Product is super insightful and the research is awesome to learn about
great cafeteria
they give you days off to do charity work

Cons

Culture is terrible- very clicky- people talk about each other behind backs like its high school
Mid Market sales business development teams are SUPER micro managed even if you and your SE are hitting numbers (your manager will run over to speak over you when she hears you on the phone)
Managers are robotic
Promotion potential is through panel- they give you a timeframe and it changes over and over and over again- and before you know it you are there a year and just going through your first promotion round when they initially said three months
Sales reps that you work with will ask you to get coffee for them or run errands for them- can feel like someones assistant
sr management only likes you if you kiss up to them.
They make you stay late and come in early all the time (it is mandatory) - you get paid overtime and sometimes they give you food but you have no life and no flexibility
It is not worth working in a business development position at this company- the money doesn't compensate for the way you are treated - and your quality of life- if you want sales- go to a company that will pay you the same base but let you close deals or realistically move up to a closing role

Advice to Management

Management in mid- market is VERY clicky- be aware of that (alot of people talking behind backs- management will not build trust with reps if they discover that)- business development reps only succeed if they are dating senior reps or management- that is the only way they are protected and not let go if they are not performing
there were no incentives for bdx's like there are for SE's - start a bdx trip or something that rewards top performers
continue to support volunteer days and different charities
Research is amazing- just do a little culture sweep of Mid- market and you will be good to go!
