I have been working at CEB full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Ability to help Executives at the best companies shape their functions and strategy
View into many industries, companies & how they operate
CEB colleagues are very smart

Cons

Company expects alot from you regarding size of territory, metrics.
Complex product - alot of research to know.
Internal Mobility difficult, especially for lower levels

Advice to Management

Promote from within in an easier way at lower levels. Don't punish employees who start their careers with CEB and reward outside hires with same experience.

    I worked at CEB full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great training for those with no previous work experience. The intellectual property/product itself is great and interesting

    Cons

    Interview process is deceiving on what the job actually entails. Almost no vacation time in the month of December and they hid that detail during interview process. The job requires no strategic thinking because of transactional type of sale. The sales process is like selling cars, capturing executives in the moment and based on an emotional basis. This is not solution selling or strategic but is face paced.

    Advice to Management

    Creating a culture where employees are people not robots on the assembly line would increase retention and morale

    I have been working at CEB full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Great company culture - young fun people, great management if in the right practice
    -Good Benefits - healthcare, extra PTO for volunteer hours, working from home is an option, tons of PTO given etc
    -Exposure to the business world / top execs even at a low level - perhaps the only comparison would be true consulting firms but even then, you probably have less 1 on 1 conversations with the senior most person
    -Training - tons of training opportunities, many are mandatory and worth it

    Cons

    -Hours, depending on the season. In the summer you're free, in December you live at the office
    - Pay.. could be better. Or made up for with incentives like cell phone/ free laptop for lower level employees
    -Development - they stress that they're happy to work on your personal development but some managers are better than others

    Advice to Management

    Continue to grow your talent, make your employees feel important
