Pros

Benefits and pay are comparatively good and the work load is varied. You are given a lot of responsibility very quickly.

Cons

Lots of politics and the pressure to conform to the senior management expectation of giving your whole life in service to the company means little to no work/life balance. Saw many colleagues become 'sick' with stress while working there.

Advice to Management

You will get more productivity out of people if you allow them recharging time and some life balance. Also some of the senior leadership have temper tantrums which is no example to set for the culture.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

A lot of exposure to some very cool, company-changing projects and strategic view from the top. If you put in the work and show some interest, they'll definitely give you the chance to prove yourself and get that experience.

    Cons

The hours are long, and the environment is hyper-competitive and not particularly collaborative. It's not the kind of place where people will have your back and offer to help.

    Advice to Management

The environment can at times be poisonous; there's no real sense of teamwork, and I think that's something that starts at the top. There's no sense of loyalty to CEMEX outside of the Mexican employees from Monterrey. The message sometimes seems to be that people should feel lucky just to be working there, and for a company that doesn't carry prestige with it in the United States, it's a dangerous philosophy or culture to foster.
