No opinion of CEO

I worked at CIBC full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Decent benefits, company culture at head office roles is less political and more open and welcoming than at some other FIs.

Cons

At the retail banking level, horrible job at hiring for people management roles - vision is very short-sighted and short-term performance based

    Positive Outlook

I worked at CIBC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Was left alone to do the job. This is great if you want to avoid micro-managers and if you have what it takes to work independently. Lot of upward mobility.

    Cons

Didn't have enough work to do, but was still expected to deliver a certain level of results. This put unnecessary pressure on me.

    Advice to Management

Make sure the walk and the talk are consistent! From what I saw, you would say one thing, but then the reality would be different and this just basically made me disengage from the company.
