I worked at CORT full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Some of the people and the product was priced well compared to comps

Cons

Management need to keep up with the times - still stuck in a pre-recession sales style which does not work in post recession markets.

Advice to Management

When one person leaves, no worries but when many run, maybe time for changes.

I worked at CORT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The only thing good about the company is the benefit package and even that changes every year and gets worse.

    Cons

Cort does not pay a living wage. Management does not back the employees on anything. Management is completely unaware of how to do their jobs and upper management is too busy trying to pay each other more to notice. Some offices go through employees like fish go through water and upper management pretends not to see it. The higher up in the company the lower the mental ability of the management. People who work there could not survive in the real world so they stay at Cort to make everyone miserable. The computer and billing systems are the laughing stock of the industry. Id you absolutely can not find a job anywhere else go to Cort, they hire anybody, but keep looking and RUN AWAY as fast as you can. Before they shut down your department and throw you out.

    Advice to Management

When a branch turns over employees every couple of months you might want to get your head out of your tail and find out why. Just because someone has been there 20 years does not mean they are good, it means they are stupid and can't get a real job. You could have a great company with dedicated employees if you would do a little house cleaning. In a store with 25 employees do 10 of them really need to be management? Maybe if you paid all that money to the non-supervisory staff and gave them a sense of worth you could keep them.
