Approves of CEO

I have been working at CSC full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Laid back can be a pro or a con
Not a lot of pressure to perform
Pro women policies with a lots of benefits

Cons

No growth and stagnant revenues mean very few chances to grow
Bulky middle and top management structure.
Silo culture, with every vertical acts like an independent organisation.

Advice to Management

The organisation structure is not aligned to achieve double or high single digit growth. A lot of redundancy is built in the structure that makes it very inefficient. A lack of clarity of roles and responsibilities on the middle management level due to hap hazard org. structure.

I worked at CSC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good training opportunities
    - Tuition reimbursement; many people are there JUST for this
    - Starting salary good

    Cons

    - Too large, dis-jointed and fragmented
    - Many people, depts doing the same work - overlap
    - Policies are all over the place, unfair, and just simply do not make sense!
    - No raises

    Advice to Management

Treat people like people - not like they are just pawns in a game.

Have a much better process for internal promotions - not just for upper management either, but for the people who come on board in regular mgmt roles.

Have a system to better communicate across the various groups, sectors, etc. My group was duplicating SO many other efforts of various groups, it began to get out of control.

Be consistent with policies. Don't allow one person to telecommute who lives 1 mile from the office, while telling someone else they cannot do it who lives 20 miles from the office.

    Let people be creative!

Talk to the employees - Everyone has a role to play but yet anyone who does not have a Director or VP near their title is treated like they don't exist.

    Pros

Competitive pay, autonomy in the work environment, telecommute options, opportunity for advancement, large company with a lot of opportunities to stretch your wings and get involved, large social and extra curricular activity network, great coworkers, excellent education reimbursement benefit

    Cons

can sometimes be hard to track down information internally as the company is so large (although the company's internal messaging board is working to change that)
