Doesn't Recommend
Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at CSC full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

At least at Egg Harbor Township (near FAA Tech Center), every day dress code is "beach casual".
Some good people and some good projects.

Cons

Parochial environment. Most employees attended the same local schools and graduated from Richard Stockton. You may find it hard to fit in if you didn't.

Company hires too many people with unrelated backgrounds (e.g. marine biology) as long as they put in the hours. They treat software development as a lightweight skill (like welding) that almost anybody could just "pick up" with a few weeks of training.

Advice to Management

Back off on the daily barrage of generic corporate email blabber that has nothing
to do with our location, our jobs or our lives. Seriously, nobody cares.

Things really started to fall apart about five years ago ($60 to $20/share)
when "The New CSC" tried to be everything to everybody. At that point,
no amount of daily "sunshine from the CEO" made things any better.

    Pros

    Big name, people are ok

    Cons

Low salary for existing employees, no consideration for acquied company employees on Csc's project. No trainings, no career development, no opportunity to work on new skills, technologies.

    Advice to Management

Please have senior management access, all hands meeting, listen to employees. Give bonus .

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at CSC as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoyed the teamwork of the people that I worked with on the Cargill contract. If you needed help, someone would drop what they were doing and assist.

    Cons

Some PM's were more worried about pleasing their manager to make them look good than working like a team. A little disappointing to see.

    Advice to Management

To remember that that it takes a "team" to be productive.
