Start and end times are very flexible. As long as your work is being done, there are not rigid start and end times.

Cons

As a government contractor, you are sometimes ignored by the Feds even though your role or expertise may be crucial to a project.

    Pros

I had the opportunity to work for CSC while deployed with the USMC. While most of my mission was dealing with the military and accomplishing things overseas, communication from our program manager was limited and sometimes non-existant. Overall, with my limited interaction with CSC, they weren't terrible - just not stellar.

    Cons

the HR process to getting hired/quitting was absolutely ridiculous. Corporate rat race to the max. If I never have to go through such a waste of time again, I'll be a much better person.

    Advice to Management

It's not quite clear what the company does, aside from 'professional services' - which are just fine. An overall focus for the entire company in the WAY things are done would be extremely helpful. Also, the corporate website is approx 4 years behind competitors in terms of look/feel/technology.

  2. "CSC offers employees flexibility, but fails to provide them with the support to succeed"

    Pros

CSC offers a flexible work schedule and the opportunity to work from home. As a remote worker, you are a given a lot of freedom to manage your own time.

    Cons

CSC does not provide all the necessary tools to do your job with maximum effectiveness. CSC management does not trust it's employees to get the job done without micromanaging. CSC does not effectively manage its customers so employees are often expected to complete tasks last minute due to a lack of planning. CSC does a poor job of managing projects and staffing projects with people that have the proper skills to get the job done.

    Advice to Management

Hiring unqualified, cheap labor resource puts additional strain on your best and most talented people and is negatively impacting employee retention. Throwing more less qualified resources on a project does not get the work done twice as fast. If you hired more skilled employees and offered incentive based compensation, you would have a work force that's a lot more motivated to get the job done fast and more efficiently.
