    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at CUNA Mutual full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice facilities, good benefits. Many dedicated, good people who work hard. Great history. Madison area is a decent place to live.

    Cons

Recent senior management was often placed based on long term relationships that negatively influenced decision making and ethical conduct. Very political. Fear based management style. Employees viewed as expendable, temporary assets. Too much focus on "projects", game playing and impressions vs. understanding results.

    Advice to Management

New CEO has opportunity to clean up behavior of senior management and eliminate favoritism based on relationships. Get rid of the politics and game playing that goes on with mid level to senior managers. Sound decision making and ethical behavior should be more important than relationships and making impressions. Get rid of turf mentality that prevents business units from working as true partners.
