I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

Pros

flexible hours
good intro to healthcare and pharmaceuticals
awesome learning opportunity about drugs, pharmacy, business, laws, prescriptions, etc. for pre-med and pre-pharm and pharm students
get to meet with and talk to patients/customers and make them happy, etc. if you are a people person, customer service etc then this job is good for u

Cons

pharmacist always keeps and eye on you (not much autonomy) always tries to boss you around basically distracting you from your primary work, but then gets mad when you dont finish your assigned primary work
they try to blame lost drugs on you (thanks to prev. dishonest employees)
they want you to work your ass off for such little pay (if it was about $3-4 an hr higher, it would have been much better)
they dress you up in a tie and give you a white coat, but you are getting paid basically minimum wage. not enough pay
they dont hire enough techs, so during the busiest times of operation, you are basically swamped trying to manage work that should be done between 3 techs (1 tech does the work for 3 techs, while the pharmacist sits on her butt eating food and drinking diet soda)

Advice to Management

it all depends on the location. management can make life hell for you or will make life easy for you. if a store is doing bad, or if a district is doing bad, yelling at employees isnt going to get much done. dont focus on how quickly we answer phones or drivethrus and etc and instead see how happy our customers leave the store.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is a good position for someone with little to no work experience. You do receive an employee discount (not on sale items), and the medical benefits are pretty good.

    Cons

The pay is very low and the annual raises are really a joke. You have very limited payroll, so you are always understaffed; yet, they expect exemplary customer service and completion of a huge workload before the end of your shift. Promotions are given to those who the SM and DM like the most, and any HR issues are never dealt with. If you are just breaking into the retail field or work field, it is not a bad first job, but you have very limited upward mobility.

    Advice to Management

You need to realize that happy field-level employees (store associates) translates into greater loyalty, better realized potential at work, and happier customers. By treating the associates at the store like you actually care, you will get excellent branding, recruit top talent, and increase your revenue streams. Allocate the appropriate funding required to run a business properly rather than squeezing every possible dollar out of the store for the corporate office, rather than reinvesting in your retail locations.
