Pros

Compensates well as long as you're a pharmacist or store manager and above...

Cons

Don't expect even inflationary raises, the company posts great profits yearly, but it doesn't trickle down very well. The company likes to micromanage everything, then doesn't give you the tools to succeed or achieve it's ridiculous expectations. Suggestions to higher ups are often ignore or you get the generic response 'that's just company policy'. You either live with it or find a different job.

Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Employee surveys are useless if you don't act on the results. For all the billions in profit, you can afford to pay your entry level employees better, not to mention give more reasonable raises, especially when you expect them to work all major holidays.

I have been working at CVS Health part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great for getting some experience as a Pharmacy tech or a new grad pharmacist. Good employee-employee communication and conflict resolution strategies.

    Cons

The pharmacists are not treated so great, especially if you are the PIC. Pharmacy Technicians pay is below par. Limited Tech duties, like, company policy says that techs cannot reconstitute.

I worked at CVS Health full-time

    Pros

20% discount, fast-paced, able to build relationships with diverse groups of customers and staff. Benefits ok. New initiatives ca be helpful.

    Cons

No work-life balance for managers. Poor integrity of upper management to store employees. More money for the stakeholders does not filter down to good employees doing a good job for the company. Extreme "big brother" threats without providing support or resources for success. Bonuses tied to several factors, not necessarily store profitability at store level, which makes it a dangling carrot. DMs who make friends with certain managers is a conflict of interest, in my opinion, because it creates resentment among peer groups when the manager friend gets rewarded time and time again overlooking others who are doing good things also.

    Advice to Management

Employee engagement surveys are not followed through by upper management. Constant threats of losing your job makes the culture unnecessarily stressful. It would be a good idea to look at regional managers and district managers to see how well they actually support managers and stores. Give real ideas to new people and be a resource for development for the goal of achievement for both parties.
