I worked at Cal State East Bay as an intern (More than a year)

Pros

Quite a bit of flexibility and was able to work a flexible schedule.

Cons

Way too many budget cuts during time that I worked there.

Advice to Management

Try to adjust to the turbulent fiscal landscape without sacrificing core services.

I have been working at Cal State East Bay full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a small campus overlooking the SF Bay Area. It is a hidden jewel amongst the CSU campuses because very few realize how beautiful the campus is. We have some very good academic programs, a rising star in athletics, a student life that is fantastic, and a campus housing program that is in great demand.

    Cons

The current budget challenges affecting all of higher education has forced every University to do more with less. CSU East Bay isn't immune from these challenges, so we work hard to meet the changing needs of our students, staff, and community.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing the envelope on making this a great place to work! Show that you value all employees with leadership that inspires and supports critical thinking. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, and allow others to do the same. Remind everyone of the wonderful work that we are all doing on behalf of our students, staff, faculty, and communities.
