Pros

Flexible hours, easy work, little responsibility, bosses take you out for lunch at times, access to cool investment data, nice office furniture, cool atmosphere and building, nice cafeteria, easily accessible by public transportation.

Cons

Little room for growth, lack of investment in interns and even just new employees, no training whatsoever, low pay, no clear path to employment, you'll never get to participate in training opportunities or programs and never get to sit in on important meetings, awful bureaucracy prevents you from even being able to install an approved web-browser without two sign-offs.

Advice to Management

Give your interns a reason to want to stay on as full-time employees: Let them have access to the meetings and seminars that are given to regular employees as long as the information is not sensitive. Provide training! If you want good results, give good training.

    Pros

Good corporate culture, with reasonable hours. Easy to get time off when in need, and the management communicates very clearly.

    Cons

The intern salary is low. Little access to corporate meetings and ways to learn on the job without being an entry level employee. No benefits package.

    Advice to Management

There should be more focus on the development of interns, so as to not leave them in the dark - it should be clear what their group is doing and what part of the work they are responsible for.

  2. "Good experience for an intern. Not good for someone starting out a career."
