I worked at Caliber Home Loans full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Great at funding, the funding process is the best here, quick, easy, no pop up conditions, almost like table funding, they will fund on emailed docs,

Cons

It's the rest of the process that takes the time, over conditions, high rates, vague guidelines. They advertise great programs but when asked on guidelines for the program your told "well, we don't really do that, or, we've never done that so dont sell it"??? no one really gives you an answer. If your in sales your on your own! appraisal's are impossible to deal with, 3 out of 5 get cut significantly and I've never had one overturned.
Very frustrating.
they hire like crazy and lay off just as fast, when I started they had 30 inside staff, when I left they has 10.

Advice to Management

hard to say since most of the upper management in the west has already quit!

I have been working at Caliber Home Loans full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is ok and bonus is good when you get it. Bonus structure changes constantly and most people dont make bonus

    Cons

disorganized, no structure, the job is stressful. The company makes too many mistakes that affect borrowers and nothing is done to fix the problems.

    Advice to Management

Need to go back to the drawing board cause the current structure isnt working. Get a good structure going as a company, the departments dont like to work together, everything gets thrown at the SPOC department.

I worked at Caliber Home Loans full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Seemed like a normal place to work. Pay was decent, good benefits. Over-time was always available, which was nice.

    Cons

Almost half of staff was called in one day and laid off..permenantly. One entire departments function was given to INDIA. How disgusting and Anti-American is that! Enough said about that. The Sales Department was always trying to create conflict with the Operations Department which created a lot of unnecessary stress in the work place. Hopefully for the sake of the folks left there, they will make some changes in the sales management staff to rid themselves of the culprit. It is a harsh work environment to say the least.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps better evaluate your position in the market place before hiring a bunch of employees that you are only going to end up letting go because you didn't do your homework. Hmmm
