Pros

One of the better places to work in the power systems field. Good pay, good location, nice people to work with.

Cons

Job may become boring sometimes, especially once you learn what you are supposed to do. Does not offer job rotations as some utilities do.

Great opportunity to work on cutting edge issues with many seasoned professionals in large team environment.

    Cons

Management style and quality can sometimes vary considerably, a major factor in the work quality experience.

    Advice to Management

Reconsider the rigorous boot camp style training for new managers and instead focus on constructive team and group discussion approach.

    Pros

    - The culture is laidback and friendly
    - A lot of opportunity to learn for a pro-active person
    - The "feel-good" factor of contributing to something that matters

    Cons

    - A not-for-profit, hence (sometimes) things don't happen as quickly as you would want.
    - Not very attractive for young employees

    Advice to Management

Hire younger folks too! Create some opportunities for younger people to get involved beyond interns (who mostly don't come back and are hence not a well-thought investment)
