Pros

Excellent Innovative Virtual Platform to learn a whole new way of teaching to students who can not attend regular brick and mortar traditional school setting.

Cons

Tremendously difficult administrative job. You never knew what expect of your your class size decreased. It is an "at will" employer meaning that you have no contract.

Advice to Management

Better communication from your upper management to new and second year teachers on what the true effects of the economy will be on their job status for the next year.

I worked at California Virtual Academies full-time

    Pros

You don't have to deal with classroom management and you have some flexibility. Although much of it is slowly being taken away.

    Cons

The upper administration does not care about their teachers, students or families. They do not want to take responsibility for their actions and they do not listen to what their teachers are saying. They pay is incredibly low for the cost of living in California. The work load you will never be able to keep up with. It is not teaching it is just a checklist of things you have to get through to satisfy administration. K12 has so much power over the way the school is runned it's crazy. And nobody is listening to the teachers on he front lines. Administration believes you are replaceable. So they don't value you at all.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your teachers and proposals decent salaries and work loads.
