Worst employment I have experienced - Intern Caliston Digital Employee Review

The Managing Director/Founder: My first week at Caliston seemed to be normal, until i was able to openly experience the level of disrespect he treated another colleague in the presence of the whole office. I originally was hired as a intern and my line manager was the managing director. He was rarely in during the morning to which was the only time you felt some what at ease but that all changes as soon was he walks in. All ‘training’ would rushed in a matter of urgency to which you will be told what to do instead of shown and then expected to instantly learn everything without making any mistakes. You were told to always ask questions but ironically you would then be made too look a fool if he felt the question was silly or if you wanted to double check an aspect of a task. Making a mistake leads to either verbal abuse over skype where he would then delete the messages as he realises how awful and unprofessional they were. If he’s in the office, he’ll mutter words in another language, then slam the meeting door where he would then talk to you like something on the bottom of his shoe while making endless threats about your job. In one of these ‘meetings’, another colleague was fired instantly in front of me, why you ask? The colleague asked the MD to “stop patronising me” (be prepared for that if you work here) This is something that happens at least once a day to a member of staff. During your time there you will see nothing but a stream of people quitting and interviews taking place nearly every week. I had been there for little under 3 months to which 6 people had left all down to the environment and treatment from the MD. These 6 people all left without a future job to go to as the managing directors lack or respect only leads to people running a mile. During your time there you will be subject to being made out to me an ‘executive’ rather than an intern as this ‘would ‘look bad for the company’. They’re right, especially if their clients knew that MOST of the people they hired were in fact interns. If you decide to work here, be prepared to hear ‘you better find a way to pay the wages’ and other threatening phrases implying your worthless to him. Be prepared to be invited into group chats where all the colleagues tell everyone their awful experiences with the MD’ (You could say it’s a form of group counselling) The company is actually 12 years old and was formerly know as ‘Social Media Marketing’ (look them up on glass door as you will really see the terrible experiences that have been written). The managing director is WITHOUT A DOUBT the biggest downfall to the company as his lack of respects and treatment to colleagues only leads to his ever small team leaving, applying for more interns, ‘train’ them up, and then expect them to become executives after a couple of weeks.
