I worked at Cambria Hotels & Suites full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Depending on your hotel, you get great coworkers.
Hours were decent

Cons

Cambria Suites is a nightmare
Hours were decent due to a problem with keeping certain areas staffed
GM shows up whenever they wanted
GM takes credit for employees hard work and ingenuity
No potential for advancement
Consistently fired and re-hired employees
Favoritism is clearly present within the ranks
Employees who question practices at meetings where this is allowed are reprimanded
or possibly fired!
Employees required to work back to back night to day to double shifts frequently!

Advice to Management

Clean house (In this case, just install a new roof!)

I have been working at Cambria Hotels & Suites as a contractor

    Pros

Hotel properties are well-appointed in prime locations. Boutique-like feel at a mid-tier pricing, so the clients typically love it. Growing brand.

    Cons

Brand is not yet well known, resorganizations of the team and assignment of accounts can be confusing for the client.

  2. "Fun job, low pay"

I worked at Cambria Hotels & Suites full-time

    Pros

The work is always different, and dealing with hotel guests is never boring. A job like this makes you more compassionate toward service professions in general, which is a plus for me.

    Cons

The pay was pretty terrible. Guests treat you like garbage. Benefits really add up when your pay is so low. Not a lot of ways to work up in the company.

    Advice to Management

Competitive pay gets better workers, and raises show appreciation to the good workers you currently have. With low pay and minimal raises, you are sending a message.
