I worked at Cambria Hotels & Suites full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Depending on your hotel, you get great coworkers.
Hours were decent

Cons

Cambria Suites is a nightmare
Hours were decent due to a problem with keeping certain areas staffed
GM shows up whenever they wanted
GM takes credit for employees hard work and ingenuity
No potential for advancement
Consistently fired and re-hired employees
Favoritism is clearly present within the ranks
Employees who question practices at meetings where this is allowed are reprimanded
or possibly fired!
Employees required to work back to back night to day to double shifts frequently!

Advice to Management

Clean house (In this case, just install a new roof!)

I have been working at Cambria Hotels & Suites full-time

    Pros

I have read some of the other reviews on here and I have to disagree. It is decent pay for front desk and we don't have to do the job of a porter or maintenance person, which is what I have done at other hotels.
I always felt management cared. Our assistant manager covered most shifts when someone wouldn't/couldn't show up and was very accommodating with schedule changes. We had enough staff that it was never too difficult to get off or get covered when you needed.

    Cons

There is no health insurance for anyone other than management (and I'm not even sure if they get it) because there are fewer than 50 full-time employees at this location.
There are a few employees that are abrasive, but that will happen anywhere.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes it feels like they act without thinking it through fully, how to explain an issue to an employee, for example. Mostly though, just keep doing what you are doing.

I worked at Cambria Hotels & Suites full-time

    Pros

MOST of the people I worked w were the reason I stayed and the guests.

    Cons

Management does not give a care in the world about the people that make the business there like the bar! To them we are replaceable. It in reality I could do a better job at their job than they could.

    Advice to Management

Get a whole new crew of management. Commonwealth is not a good management company!
