I have been working at Campbell Alliance full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Campbell is focusing more on strategic work, and is winning projects over the big strategy shops.
There is very little travel requiremed, which is a very big plus for achieving a decent work-life balance.
There is the potential for more rapid career trajectory as compared to other consulting firms.
Consultants have the ability to get broad exposure within just the life sciences.

Cons

The shift in corporate direction has led to understandable challenges at all levels of the organization.
There has been higher than average turnover for a short period (which has now stabilized).
Bonus structure is a complete mess at the moment.

Advice to Management

There needs to be more cross-collaboration with the broader inVentiv organization. We should be able to see who is working in which clients, and what they're working on.

    Pros

    Colleagues who are intelligent, good people and enjoyable to work with
    Variety of project types and clients, with continuous stimulation and learning
    Recently evolved leadership team, which is resulting in positive changes within the organization (such as recruiting the appropriate employees, encouraging behaviors that are more collaborative, leading by example, improved mentoring and professional development)

    Cons

    There are still improvements to be made:
    Weeding out employees who do not have the consulting work ethic, and/or a poor attitude to work and approach to working with team members
    Integrating the Consulting division into the broader inVentiv organization, and working seamlessly with the other business units

    Pros

    Get exposure to multiple types of consulting projects
    It is easy to get access to senior management and they provide excellent mentoring and training on the project
    Compensation is at par if not better with any of the other consulting companies
    People are generally nice and gun to work with
    Travel is not too taxing and less than majority of other consulting firms

    Cons

    The middle management does not put the required effort on the project and tend to dump work on the consultants
    The role and positioning of inVentiv Health Consulting (Campbell Alliance) is not clearly defined in the bigger organization leading to confusion in the projects and pitches that require consulting to work with other business units
