Positive Outlook

I have been working at Campus Living Centres part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The coworkers
The comprehensive training in things like SafeTALK, LGBTQ matters, CPI, fire safety, WHMIS, etc.
Dealing with sensitive matters like sexual abuse and suicide (You could really make a difference in someone's life)

Cons

Always being on-call
Having to deal with idiot residents who behave like children instead of college students
Dealing with sensitive matters like sexual abuse and suicide (After a while, depending on what you're like, this could wear you down emotionally, psychologically)

Advice to Management

Personally, my manager has an open door policy and doesn't keep anything from us if we ask, so communication is good there. I guess I'd say keep it up.

    Pros

If you are going to live in residence this is a great experience for you. Meet lots of people and are able to help and mentor other residents.

    Cons

Sometimes becomes a lot of work, late shifts on school nights.

I worked at Campus Living Centres full-time

    Pros

Salary is Ok; they promote from within.
    Nice office space.
    Friendly coworkers.

    Cons

In my experience money was the focus of everything, this business practice drove away good residents when they saw that nothing was done about the really horrible residents.

A real struggle to get benefits.

    Advice to Management

Retaining bad tenants because its money from the rent is a bad business practice - you drive away good tenants who are otherwise happy with CLC.
