    Pros

Strong people, high quality products and an excellent reputation for outstanding customer service in the marketplace. Also allows an opportunity for motivated employees to have a noticeable impact on the company's success. Flexibile hours and half-day Fridays aren't bad either!

    Cons

The salaries in the publishing industry as a whole tend to be lower than in other sectors. That said, CLB seems to be competitive with other legal publishers. Previous posts had criticisms about our HR department but hopefully the recent major restructuring in the department will have a postive impact for employees.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the open door policy that exists among VPs at The Cartwright Group and CLB's VP is open to new and innovative ideas.

    Pros

People are treated equally and fairly. Jobs are always posted internally so people have a chance to move laterally and upwards.
Everyone is a professional, and the atmosphere is professional.
Company throws huge Christmas part for employees and sponsors free lunches.
Company works with employees who have ergonomic issues, but within parameters. Someone who needs more work space than the cubicle allows in order to avoid twisting would likely not be accommodated. Lighting, chairs, desk height, etc. can be changed.
Flextime is available. Homeworking is an option.

    Cons

People work in cubicles, sometimes with inadequate desk space.
Pay and benefits are adequate but nothing extraordinary.
    Glass ceiling reached very quickly.

    Advice to Management

If you promise, stick with it.
