I have been working at Canada Post full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

-Not always working 8 hours in a day
-Decent Compensation (depending on your weather conditions)
-Decent Pension/Holidays (They are trying to change this)

Cons

-Big corporation, your another face in the crowd, supervisors barely know you by name.
-Working in adverse weather conditions (-40, +40)
-Heavy mail days are very hard on the legs and hips.
-Takes 2+ years to become a permanent employee, therefore it takes 2+ years to get any kind of benefits or start working on your pension.
-Always new changes coming in, always having to adapt to something new (these changes are usually mindless and useless).

Advice to Management

Allow for employee's to get bonuses depending on their delivery of flyers etc. An employee with a longer route and more flyers/parcels deserves a bigger bonus than the guy with half the route. Make the foot walks a little shorter, they are becoming inhumanly possible.

    Pros

Company is transitioning towards a modern post to be competive in the industry.
    Benefit package a plus.

    Cons

Many employees have taken advantage of the benefits systems and as such, management is overwhelmed to acknowledge and deal with getting employees back to work.

    Advice to Management

Employee engagement initiatives need to be addressed from the top and communicated.
Be rid of residential door to door service, no longer cost effective in many ways.
