Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Canada Post full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

The job security .Spending my day outside without a boss looking over my shoulder. the easy going people. serving the public . good pay . Getting all the federal holidays and good benefits.

Cons

facing the unpredictable weather . labor disputes. moody employees. flyers can become a burden with weather can make job very difficult when your hands are frozen .

Advice to Management

Stop wasting money please the changes that are going into effect with second grade technology is not funny . The cell phones people have are better then the scanners we are using. for flyers i would allow employees a break from the color system when the weather is terrible .

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Canada Post full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work life balance, for those who place a premium on the 'Life' portion of the equation, is better than most companies.

    Cons

This is a once proud but declining company lacking the necessary vision to halt its demise. Employees are not trusted and all decision making is aggregated to a very small subset of senior management.

    Advice to Management

    1) Aggressively manage the decline of the Lettermail business. If you don't the market will do it for you.
    2) Privatize the Parcel line of business by merging it with Purolator.
    3) Exit the Advertising line of business as it is environmentally untenable and of dubious economic value for clients and consumers alike.
    4) Realize that the market sees no value in Canada Post providing electronic services and move to exit this line of business.
