I have been working at Canadian Tire part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for at the store level. Individual owners give the feeling of being a part of a local small business rather than a large corporation, but with all the benefits of being a large corporation.

    Cons

Can be very unrewarding as there is very little room to excel at the store level, managers often make similar wages to other employees, but get the luxury of plenty of unpaid overtime.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that employees are trained and are aware of profit sharing benefits packages. Many employees get the feeling that they are overwhelmed, especially in the auto department. There seems to be a high rate of turnover, due to employees not fully understanding their roles. Many employees are never made aware of the profit sharing programs available to them and are missing out on an above average employee- employer relationship.
