I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

-Great opportunities for those looking to become management of overseas resources
-Great training benefits if you can become associated with a specific long term team
-Cell phone provided
-For those interested in management advancement lots of opportunities exist

Cons

-Outsourcing company that reduces cost by hiring overseas resources and cutting corners on development cost
-Technical (non management) personnel in North America branch seen as wasteful
-Documentation, project management, change policy and other documentation policies change each year
-Heavy workload limits capability to fully resolve any one engagement before moving to another. Leads to patchwork system of hidden problems.

Advice to Management

Competition/bickering between business units seems to reduce the effectiveness of the overall system.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Sizeable, interesting projects. Management straight-forward and easy to deal with. Staff competent.

    Cons

too much travel and overtime. You are essentially working like a contractor. No idea when a project finishes if you will be retained on bench or not and where / what your next project is going to be. You are not really working for Capgemini, that is only on paper. You are working for an Indian company called Kanbay

    Advice to Management

Everyone knows that you are hiring just for a specific vacancy and the rest of ones tenure is based on who one knows, not what one knows. Performance reviews are barely even lip service.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, high profile clients and opportunity for career growth.

    Cons

    Work/Life balance, culture and leadership

    Advice to Management

Focus on the people more then you say in your slogan and support them through difficult engagements. Align your strategy to the clients business goals not internal sales goals and CM. This will bring more business longer term.
