I worked at Capgemini full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

- Not aware of any. Was placed @ local client's location from day 1. Went to office only 3 times during final settlement.

Cons

Many...
I found below cons while working in LBS. NOT sure/ NO comments about other pools/unit.
- Once you join LBS, you will be placed @ local client location until project is completed or you resign.
- Impossible to get release from the project or change the pool.
- I have seen some managers with very bad communication skills. God knows how they manage with customers.
- You will be asked to work on weekends and holidays. Manger will promise to compensate it with comp offs(day off). But when time comes to avail it, you will neither be allowed to take comp off (day off) nor financially compensated for balance comp offs.
I have seen many colleagues with 20 + comp offs and no way to compensate it.
- It is useless talking your concerns with manager or HRs. they simply do not care.

Advice to Management

Try to retain good people. It's good people who make good company !!!

I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Capgemini does offer a handsome starting salary; but beware the financial growth from there would be at a tortoise's pace.
Good work life balance(depends on the client)
    Good learning opportunities

    Cons

    Relatively low travel/onsite opportunities
    Poor policies for people retention
    Poor/slow career/financial growth
    Inefficient top management

    Advice to Management

Capgemini has started to develop this policy of never trying to retain their critical resources.

Clients do invest a lot of time & money in building up people relationships with your employees & when your employees move away frequently, clients have to start from scratch.

Management/policy makers needs to realize that a happier employee means happier clients too. Hiring a new person for higher cost doesn't always ensure a happy client. Lesson to learn!
