I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

You have the opportunity to work with some really strong professionals. The growth opportunities within the company were good.

Cons

Your position very much depends on the business wins from clients. If the clients do not sign up your services, you stay will be shortlived.

Advice to Management

Keep your good talent by offering them opportunities when the business starts to slow down. These people will be needed when the business picks up.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management talk the talk. Good on-boarding and organizational set-up. Interesting projects. Pay is better than average.

    Cons

Management does not walk the walk. Lack of opportunities. Much, much smaller foot print across US organizations than the name Capgemini would suggest. FSGBU is simply Kanbay re-branded, acting/charging like an Indian outsource company with the usual churn of employees, yet presenting itself under the Capgemini brand.

    Advice to Management

You have squandered the good reputation that Capgemini has built in Europe here in the US.

I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I got to work with some people with great personalities. I enjoyed the extremely relaxed and casual company culture

    Cons

    - The company hardly wins any projects even though:
    - utilization rate is the only KPI that managers care about which means:
    - hardly any chances of promotion
    - incompetent managers
    - horrible place for a young person to begin a career - no chances of career development
    - clients have unfair expectations for experience level of entry-level consultants which means it is nearly impossible to be staffed as a staff consultant
    - insane recruitment goals despite the fact that there were always too many resources on the bench

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to recruit more talent and start using the talent you already have.
