    I worked at Capital One part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Referral incentives are about it.

    Cons

    Avg/ below avg salary.
    Too aggressive with coaching WHILE TELLERS ARE HELPING CUSTOMERS. Distracts teller from what is important- their jobs (risk of transaction error increasing, incorrect, et al.)

    Advice to Management

    Coaching should not take place on the teller line. It should be STRICTLY observed only, then later coached with employees elsewhere. No coaching should be taking place while tellers are helping customers, not only does it increase probability of error, it is RUDE TO THE CUSTOMER. (NYC, NY-Lower Manhattan East District)

    I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Capital One has a great work culture. Employees have a lot of freedom in their work. There is very less bureaucracy and in most cases, if you can prove your hypothesis using the right data, then you win.

    Cons

    Need to upgrade the compensation structure;
    Need to be consistent in growth opportunities in various departments - growth is very easy in a few areas whereas extremely hard to come by in a few other (mainly due to bad planning by senior management)

    Advice to Management

    Think about the career opportunities given to employees at lower levels.. else, high risk of localized attrition..
