I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good pay (not great)
Great work/life balance
Great technology
Great flexibility (work from home option)

Cons

I have noticed that most of the leadership started as colleg hires or are from India (brought over by friends) and have only worked at COF. This makes it very difficult for them to understand how things are done outside of Capital One in the U.S. I believe this is a definitive weakness, as diversity is not only ethnicity, but based on work experiences as well...

Advice to Management

Focus on talented individuals both inside and outside your organization. Also, focus on the talent within the United States of America. COF has a large population of leaders that are not from the U.S.

I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Career Opportunities, Open Culture, Work/Life Balance, and a very collaborative culture!

    Cons

Depending on your role, your day could be filled with meetings and presentations. Sometimes the culture is too collaborative and it is hard to get anything done unless its scheduled in a meeting environment.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to step into the weeds occasionally, it can lead to improved efficiencies and outcomes with your teams.

I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work-life balance, good for working mothers, celebrate culture & ethnicity, promote community service, and great benefits.

    Cons

The combining of all the integrated bank's work culture...getting less confusing as more systems are implemented and divisional procedures are documented.

    Advice to Management

Offer back-up childcare for associates in other locations, than just McLean.
