I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good staff incentives like 401 and Health Coverage.

    Cons

Poor management styles shows lack of prerequisite skills. Senior Managers too involved in front line matters instead of managing the managers.

    Advice to Management

Try to do a job evaluation to determine the strengths of employees instead of blocking them coz of poor performance in areas that are wrong fit.

I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Recruits very smart people from top MBA schools/consulting firms.
    - Analytical rigour in all decision making
    - Great work life balance
    - Opportunity to create an impact
    - Work and interact with senior leadership
    - Freedom to voice opinion

    Cons

    - Very slow paced, decisions take lot of time
    - Constant restructuring
    - Goals and resources are not aligned
    - Cost pressures and hence head count reduction happening for last 3 yrs

    Advice to Management

Need to align goals and resources. Cost cutting due to pressures is understandable, however it still needs to align with the goals set for the organization. Rich sets the goals and cost cutting sets a difference message for those groups.
