Pros

Great culture! People are very nice. Managers are well trained and professional.
Have opportunities to try different positions, find the best for yourself!
Richmond is a great place to live for many people.

Cons

Culture in different team could differ vastly. You might feel very comfortable in one team, but totally wrong in another team.
Capital One looks for very specific type of person and promote well - if you deviates a bit from that bar, things are not going well.
Capital One has a huge campus in Richmond - for those who are curious about outside world, location is a big con.
Salary not very competitive.

I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The door is wide open for women at Capital One. The hours are great. During the week the branch closes at 4pm, so a late night is 5pm and you can't take the work home with you. Also no uniforms.

    Cons

The technology is fairly old and not very well streamlined, there's a different system for everything. Very few spanish/english bilinguals, it's not a priority. The branches are understaffed so time off for sickness and emergencies is tough. Incentives are not generous.

    Advice to Management

Take a look around a Chase branch- everything is in Spanish and English. This should be a top priority in hiring.

I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of days off, friendly staff

    Cons

low pay if promoted internally...over worked and under paid, I felt taken advantage of

    Advice to Management

More support, I was working as a banker and branch designee essentially handling the role of
Branch manager along with trying to meet my sales goals...for a third of the pay
