I have been working at Capital One full-time

    Pros

    *very collegial
*not your typical bank - culture is more like a consulting firm
*great place for a college hire to start their career in one of the many college development programs

    Cons

*people management - some managers lack the training & tools to coach their teams effectively
*Need professional development programs for non-College hire associates
    *Lack of Diversity
*Selection process for a candidate is very rigorous and heavily focused on case interviewing for analyst candidates. Does one's performance on a case dictate their success in the role? Is our process too rigorous where it could be screening out good candidates? Just because a person fails a case doesn't mean the person is not a great fit for Capital One. They still maybe able to perform the core duties of the job. They just need to sharpen their case interviewing skills and that only comes with practice and time. That's not innate.

    Advice to Management

Develop professional development programs for non-College hires
Increase resources & focus on finding & developing a more diverse workforce
Put associates in management roles only if they're great with managing people and have high EQs and care about their associates growth and development
