    Pros

Good city, good university. Nice atmosphere at work. Good quality of research. Cardiff is a nice city with parks and seafront.

    Cons

Fixed term contract running out in 3 years. No possibility of extending the contract. In a Postdoc it is sometimes hard to motivate yourself.

    Advice to Management

Cardiff University is a good university doing top level international research. It would be nice to see the research funding increased.

    Pros

Great job flexibility and training are the strongest points. You can leave at pretty much any time and stay as long as you want provided the job is done, although this may depend a lot on your supervisor. You have also strong trainign opportunities with many courses running and there is a Lifelong Learning Centre related to the university for more serious stuff.

    Cons

The promotions of internal staff are not really promoted and some people is not really helpful. The IT service is particularly bad. the network can be down any time and you receive loads of spam. States also takes ages to sort anything out, so youd better have some basic tools at hand.

    Advice to Management

Please, give them a course to develop some basics of people management.
