    Negative Outlook

I worked at Care Animal Hospital (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The owners are very nice.

    Cons

I was hired to be the front desk receptionist for the night clinic they call Animal Emergency. I was told that I would be trained first. While I asked daily for feedback on how I was doing, no feedback was given. After 2 weeks I was abruptly asked to leave. Reason? You are a slow learner. Hours were supposed to be 6-12 p.m , almost daily I was asked to leave by 10. The day I asked my manager to not reduce my already very less hours, the next day I was fired. The supervisor who was training me was an insecure woman. The moment I asked her for feedback or how I could do better, she would tell me that these things can't be learnt in few days, as it takes years to learn, hence avoiding advise. I had heard that no night receptionist stays on the job. Only one that lasted was my supervisor. I can safely assume because that one particular person who does the night duty is insecure about her position and hours and will ensure the environment isn't conducive for a new entrant to stay.

    Advice to Management

Owners are wonderful but don't know of the politics happening within. Your dependence on selfish older employee will be damaging for your buisiness. Have a training in place for new employees. Make it interactive, with constructive feedback to enhance performance.
