Former Employee - Account Manager in Chicago, IL

Approves of CEO

Pros

Free cubs tickets every once in a while (since they have the same owners). Their services are easy to sell as it is easy becoming more popular to place employment advertising online as opposed to the newspaper.

Cons

The job is very, very boring. You sit in a cubicle all day and talk to people on the phone all day. The only relief comes when you have a client base after a few months and you can spend a little more time posting their advertisements on the website. Other than that, the job is pure monotany.

Advice to Management

Don't make the meetings so boring.

    Pros

The company truly lives by its values, is in almost all cases fair, and gives you endless opportunites to gain knowledge - not only through tuition reinbursement but all the training and development classes offered, very work hard/play hard oriented environment, great benefits, good people overall - easy to do business with and fun to be around, open door policies across the board, support however you need it

    Cons

Some roles don't give you much of a career path opportunity, there is a normal level of office politics going on that with any company you just have to deal with

    Advice to Management

As a leader your focus should be leading your team, not trying to promote yourself or your agenda

    Pros

Great people to work with and great experience selling to C level executives. The salary was just above average but definitely not bad. Work with quite a few people in the same age bracket but definitely not in experience levels.

    Cons

Commission structure was horrible...if you sold an account and then 3-4 months later that account couldn't pay their bills anymore it not only set your commissions back but you then had to make up for that account times 2 in order to stay on plan for the year.

Management doesn't look at the big picture when it comes time to advancement opportunities...it's strictly a numbers game with them.

    Advice to Management

    QUIT Shuffling good people around!
