Pros

Management was very clear in communicating background information and expectations. Very good work-life balance, with great advance notice when things got really busy. Provided the opportunity to work with very smart people on problems that really matter.

Cons

I really can't find anything negative to say about my experience there.

Advice to Management

I don't have any advice.

    Pros

World class researchers and resources, collaborative atmosphere. CMU has a nice campus and is near some of the nicer pittsburgh neighborhoods

    Cons

Well typical grad student things, professors to busy to deal with you in a timely fashion. You are the low person on the totem pole. CMU Undergrads are often very difficult to deal with as many feel a sense of entittlement to good grades etc

    Advice to Management

Grad students should not have to pay for their own health insurance. I don't know that this is university wide but it was true in my department

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The academic community fosters innovation because there is a very open policy on campus. Most faculty and researchers have open doors. Some of the top experts in computer science and engineering are located here and relatively easy access to them is invaluable.

    Cons

As a graduate student, the downsides are the same when compared with other graduate students in other universities.

    Advice to Management

    Value the graduate students more.
