Pros

Shorter hours than other retailers (my store stayed open the latest of the stores in our area 8 p.m.

Cons

The training techniques they use to sell merchandise is sometimes unrealistic (A.B.E.) I dont think it was made by people who actually have worked in the store.

Advice to Management

Spend time working in the store and get a feel for it to see that every technique that 'sounds' good doesnt actually work in reality

    Pros

The customers and co-workers make your day working at Casual Male. It's not a hard job once you get a routine. The operating hours are better than most retailers.

    Cons

-Lack of payroll; most of the day you work alone no regards for an employees safety
-Unfair practices; if you have been around for awhile they will begin enforcing "standards" that only apply to you so that they can get rid of you and get someone in there for a lower salary
-Home office employees such as human resources dept. will always "protect" the DM or RM don't even waste your time reporting any concerns you have with them or their practices, go straight to EEOC
-No raises for three years then we were given a 25% paycut and given a non-comparable commission incentive.
-Company paid millions of dollars for a selling program that didn't work with our clientele. They make it way harder than it needs to be.

    Advice to Management

Stop jumping head first into many different projects. They are trying to make Casual Male into something it is not and won't work. Don't forget about your regular guys who want affordable, stylish, quality clothing. They are the ones who carried the company as far as it is today.

    Pros

was a great place to work- raising funds for st. Jude children's hospital. hours were not bad although too much work to do.. some staff at home office listen and work to solve problems however some don't and then find a reason to fire you unfairly!

    Cons

over the years the appreciation for the staff had gone way down hill, respect was not given to staff as well as loyalty for years served, pay was cut 25% for the staff that does all the work and COE gets bonus... DM's don't contribute to stores and then don't listen. hold store managers responsible for everything wrong and then don't back them up.

    Advice to Management

pay more attention to store managers and when they have a problem listen and work to fix the problem. some people at home office are great but some don't listen....
