Pros

The company is a decent place to work with slightly above average compensation. Many divisions of the company are growing and offer opportunity for advancement. Global operations offer a chance to work abroad if that is your desire.

Cons

Facilities are often located in places that are out of the way or undesirable to live. The corporate culture is very conservative. Everyone just kind of does their job and keeps to themselves. Not a very exciting place to work. If you want to work there you had better like beige cubicles.

Advice to Management

Try to incorporate culture and quality of life factors when choosing a site for a new facility rather than just focusing on cheap land, labor and access to transportation networks.

    Pros

Good competitive pay and nice profit sharing

    Cons

Management needs work. A lot of inexperience young grads that get in to a managerial roll and make quick decisions and shove all work to engineers.

    Advice to Management

Reduce the amount of chiefs and give the credit to the engineers at Cat. They are ultimately the ones that do all the work anyways.
