I worked at Catholic Health Initiatives full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

PTO adds up pretty fast but not much else is a PRO

Cons

Since the company started with the outsourcing it has gone downhill and very fast. Core Values are not observed, Mangers and Directors have no clue on what they are doing nor do they care. The leadership has its head stuck in the sand because they are not in touch at all with the workforce and the moral is the worst I have seen at any other company I have worked for. Unless you are a part of the inner circle of friends between management and employee then you will be unable to grow and advance. Most who have left no longer need their medications and are now in much better health after leaving.

Advice to Management

Pay attention to what your employees are saying and not just what you want to hear. Bonuses are not everything. MO'R has destroyed the IT department in 4 years and a lot of incredible talent was lost due to the outsourcing model chosen by leadership

    Pros

I have nothing good to say about CHI except that the cafeteria was decent.

    Cons

Backstabbing, passive aggressive behavior, lack of practical training, management's lack of integrity and people skills

    Advice to Management

All management should submit their resignations.

I worked at Catholic Health Initiatives full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

CHI is a very stable healthcare company. They have a set of core values that is difficult to maintain across a $10B company but you can see the effort is there

    Cons

Recent constraints in the healthcare market are forcing CHI to outsource some of their IT functions. This is jeopardizing some of the hard work they have done moving from a holding company to an operating company over the past 8 years.

    Advice to Management

Listen. It is easy to rationalize away what your employees are saying. Be better than that. Reconsider some of your recent strategies and assess whether or not you are getting more than a cost benefit. Kevin, have the courage to change course if your outsourcing or other strategies aren't working.
