Approves of CEO

I have been working at Catholic Relief Services full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

An agency that has a big heart and cares about its team members, partners along with the community. The agency cares about the family of the employee and provides all kinds of support to ease functioning at the ground level. Senior people are extremely humble and supportive.

Cons

Too process oriented which often leads to wastage of time and energy. Many a times it feels as compulsive or nagging issue than a real need for undergoing the process.

Advice to Management

Need to be open to raise funds outside US as well; consider more decentralization in terms of decision making.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

As a fellow, you have a fantastic opportunity to learn all about the organization and it is very likely that you will be kept on as a program manager if you do a good job.

A great chance to learn programming and administration nuances and develop professionally.

    Cons

You often have little control over what you work on or where you're asked to go next (which is often a hardship post - be prepared).

Sometimes the role of the fellow is unclear.

    Advice to Management

Establish more concrete scopes of work for the fellows to be shared at an earlier date. Ask for more feedback at the end of the fellowship on how to improve the fellowship in specific regions/country programs.
