I have been working at Cedar Fair full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Great culture, amazing people! Benefits provided were good that were provided. Opportunities for advancement were always given which was great.

Cons

Some long hours and stressful situations. Sometimes it was hard to have a work life balance with the constant hours during the busy season but a lot of time off was given during the down time.

Advice to Management

I worked at Cedar Fair part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked in finance, so most of my shifts were spent indoors with air conditioning and sometimes chairs. Management was informal and personable, and it felt like we were all in the same boat. Flexible scheduling. Good work atmosphere.

    Cons

Largely unresponsive to requests from below, except when it was for something that significantly interfered with operations. Low pay for long hours. Most of the positions are filled by teenagers who will work all day and night 6 days a week, so the bar is set pretty low as far as pay and conditions go. Cafeteria food is expensive, though I hear they're going to work on that. There is also very poor communication between departments, which can make things frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Your employees know how to run departments better than you do.

I have been working at Cedar Fair full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Outstanding staff, fun working environment, free access to all Cedar Fair Parks, good health benefits. New CEO, Matt Ouimet, could move the company in a new direction.

    Cons

Lack of professionalism and trust. Micro-managed to the dime and to the minute. Poor work life balance. No flex time. Lack of support for professional growth. Poor compensation for required workload.

    Advice to Management

Balance the company's focus between the staff and the stakeholders.
