I worked at Cedar Sinai Park full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The residents and some of the staff

    Cons

The company is in a downward spiral. They keep firing and laying off employees to save money but this has resulted in lower quality of care of residents and poor treatment of employees. They also want employees to donate out of their paychecks to help with the growing deficit. The executives constantly lie and manipulate. Employee labor laws are disregarded, manager retaliation is common and bullying is rampant. An entire...

    Advice to Management

Fix the culture starting with the sexist executives that bully their employees. The CEO needs to stop putting his head down when employees try tell him what execs are doing (he will tell you to speak to hr) and not allowing managers to retaliate when valid concerns are then brought to HR.

I have been working at Cedar Sinai Park full-time

    Pros

Finally they pushed out the administrator at the rehab. He was bringing down the whole vibe and the worst boss I have ever had. The culture is much better now. The rest of the leadership are truly amazing people and the company treats people very well. Employees are very valued.

    Cons

Can be slow to make necessary changes and get rid of people.

    Advice to Management

Do not let the wrong people stay so long.

I worked at Cedar Sinai Park full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

    Lovely Residents and Families here.

    Cons

Cedar Sinai Park is a company that has been in turmoil for far too many years now. They have had several executive staff changes and none of it seems to be helping. They took the approach of "work harder and faster," but has not given department managers cost of living increases for the last two years. Most recently they began cutting their workforce and letting long term employees go just to cut expenses. They schlepped...

    Advice to Management

Walk in your employees shoes if even only for a day. You should have taken the time to know what each department is responsible for, not just in theory, but what they realistically do before you decide to cut their position. The best executives know how their business works from the ground up. It is your front end staff and support team who are running your business and you owe it to them to understand what they REALLY...
