Pros

Exposed to a variety of illness, procedures ect. You will see a lot.

Cons

Disorganized, seems to care more about looking like they are doing the right things vs actually doing it.

Advice to Management

So much to say... Ask the people in each dept how they would like changes to be implemented vs implementing change with zero input. Better organization, more efficient. Really listen to employee's- not just paying lip service. Have a suggestion box for employee's. There are lots of great idea's out there but no one is asking the people who deliver care what we think.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

They do have a lot of money to spend in the research enterprise, only if you work with the right groups. Good benefits and dceent competitive salaries.

    Cons

Very autocratic. Not a very collaborative place. The admin/HR departments are very inefficient. The IT department is pretty much antiquated. The research enetrprise can occasionally be a bit disappointing and is not taken seriously by peers in the field. It's all about who knows who and who you can please and keep on your side. However, it's the same news at most other large organizations and hospital based insititutions. Only the top well-known scientists are recuited and get the best advantages, while the smaller ones are generally ignored.

    Advice to Management

Dont run the place from top-level down as a dictatorship if you want to run a serious research enterprise. Be fair to big all, big or small in status. Clinicians are not the only ones that matter,

    Pros

great location, great views from the office, very nice people working with you, nurses are very polite and the environment is clean and well-taken care of.

    Cons

sometimes pay is not as high as it can be; too much administrative issues take up a lot of time so that doing the actual job you're there for is a bit difficult.

    Advice to Management

    pay your researchers better!
