Pros

Having worked at other brokerage/logistics companies, I found the brokerage department at Celadon to be far superior than most in the way they operate. Management is open to new ideas from employees as to how to better their operation and their door is always open. There is no micro-management here...come in, do your job, and do it well and you will be a happy employee.

Cons

It's a big company, a few hundred employees in one office. The atmosphere can be a drag at times.

Advice to Management

Keep it up!

    Pros

    30,000 miles 1 week vacation and $1,000.

    Cons

Not enough miles to much layover time.

    Advice to Management

Preplan drivers or have loads for drivers. When you know a driver is headed to Laredo or other destinations, have a idea of what you are going to do with that driver.

I have been working at Celadon Trucking Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is little to say about anything good about this company. But all trucking companies are the same, and all the people they hire are cut from the same cloth. They go out of their way to hire people not based on their skills, but based on their callousness and stubbornness when dealing with drivers.

    Cons

Crosss border paperwork leadsheets are never done. They never take the initiative and always wait for you to be near the border and in a panic before doing anything. I have picked up trailers in the yard with paperwork two or three days old but nothing was done with brokers or customs. As usual, the "dispatchers" are all totally clueless teenage girls and not ex drivers. They always make the driver do useless macros that distract you and take lots of time away from driving. The dispatchers are not team players and only are there to report to managment on drivers and are constantly harassing you. They do not read all of your messages, and therefore they cause all kinds of havoc when your on the road.

    Advice to Management

A nice driver lounge doesn't cut it. You need to really support your drivers by paying professional dispatchers a decent wage, and training them. Also the wages for drivers in the US are only .38 cents a mile. They do not pay for live loads or live unloads. They always rip me off on my expenses and rarely pay me back what I am owed.
