Pros

There are some great people at Cengage and the open work environment is collaborative and fast paced. Management is trying to offer transparency to their goals and vision with frequent meetings and regular phone Q/As.

Cons

Very "be in the office" centric when the technology is in place to still actively collaborate remotely and be productive.

Advice to Management

Keep up the communication as you've been doing - the company morale, I feel, is improving and collaboration among groups is getting a lot better.

    Pros

    Worked with a lot of interesting and great people. I learned a lot.

    Cons

    The pay wasn't great, and it was sometimes hard to stay busy.

    I worked at Cengage as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible work schedule, good bennefits, okay pay. great people to work with but not a lot of social interaction.

    Cons

    So many layers of management and not being able to get straight answers. "I'll get back to you" was said so many times with little follow up.

    Advice to Management

    Make the call! Be a leader not a follower. Your employees should look up to you not down on you, build the relationships necessary to take your people to the next level.
