I have been working at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a contractor (More than 3 years)

Pros

Once I was place with the right people, it became an excellent work environment. Very nice people, relaxed environment. They strive to make you better and help you reach your goals. I actually liked it but that was not where I wanted to be in my career.

Cons

Working with the little people and big egos... but you can get around this. Be very proactive about your career and management will work with you to help you gain the most knowledge you can possibly get.

Advice to Management

I have been working at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Possibility to work with some really cool projects and feel like you're making a difference in the world.

    Cons

Bureaucracy, red tape, general ridiculousness. If I post specifics it will be obvious who I am, but let's just say that I have a masters degree and a high schooler could have done my job as it was designed. I've had to fight to make it something remotely challenging.

    Advice to Management

    Use some common sense
